I Will Work For Barrow’s Gov’t Even As Cleaner- Former CDS

The former Chief of Defence staffs (CDS) Retired General Ousman Badjie has explained that he is ready to work with the Barrow government even if he is appointed as a cleaner, which he claimed he want to contribute to the development of the country’s development. 

He made these remarks yesterday in an exclusive interview with presenter Noreyni the Bayfall, at his program called the breakfast in Senn Fm alongside Westfield.

The breakfast is a popular program whereas many public figures in Gambia and abroad do listen to for clarifying doubts in the country’s movement.
I love my country and I will keep bringing peace, that’s why I was among those who were dancing went former President Jammeh was voted out of power at December 1st, 2016. 

In showing his commitment, the newly military attaché in Chine lamented that Soldier should believe in itself and that’s why he believed me during the country’s political impasse. “If I had dead, I will know that I dead at the right track because Allah even said in the Quran that anyone protecting your country and happen to die, you will go straight to heaven.

In appealing to the soldiers, he stated that political misunderstanding should not bother the army because any political problem should be solve by politician and that’s why he then guided his army not to fight during the impasse because of political differences.

In speaking to the relationship with Senegal, former CDS highlighted that Senegal has played a very essential role during our political impasse, adding everybody have seen that that Senegal was pushing ECOWAS to intervene for a peaceful environment. “Senegal surrounded us and they are bigger than us and they also have wider economic than us, so we should further foster our relationship,” he urges.

“Many people were saying that I was mad during the pass political impasse and even adding that former president Jammeh took me to marabou for me to follow his command, I am not that kind because I learnt. I joined the army in 1987 and passed through all ranges expect two and that’s oo2 and oo1. I had learnt many things ranging from conflict management, crises management, conflict prevention and more,” he added. 

Badjie reiterated that many people were saying lot went he was appointed as ambassador to Cuba and he didn’t, adding that he is now seen appointed to china as military attaché. “I have nothing to say just to thank the government and wait for my trip,” he buttressed.
