The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has yesterday graduated thirty officers who underwent five months intensive training on engineering to serve GAF. The graduation was held at Yundum Barack. Brigadier general Ramatoulie B.K Sanyang thanked all the commanders who partake in the training, saying there is need to consolidate on the achievements made so far and improve on the identified weak areas, especially in engineering. “This is the fifth time in the history of the GAF engineers thus making today’s ceremony most special. I recalled personnel ceremony cadre 04 around July 2018, which was about 50 soldiers and was a significant figure to both GAF engineers and different platinum,” he explained. The Chief of Defence Staff Lt. General Masaneh Kinteh has on Wednesday in a Christmas message indicated that as we all aware of the political landscape of the country, it is incumbent upon the armed forces to always remember their role and remain apolitical and focus on their assigned roles and responsibilities.  CDS Kinteh further stated that this is one great achievement that they achieved as one of the fundamental gains in our reform process.  “We have all been very important players in these successes. Therefore, while we jealously guard our gains, we must remain vigilant, send the message of peace as well as always remain united and stay clear off tribalism. The President of The Gambia Adama Barrow send a strong message to the Gambians that declaration of our freedom should equip us to ratify nationhood and patriotism as genuine Gambian nationalists. “Today marks 54 th anniversary of the day that ushers our motherland into the world as a sovereign nation, while is a day of celebration and jubilation. This opportunities task us as a nation to take our successes, challenges and progress since the attainment of nationhood.
