Woman suffers osteoarthritis seek for medical treatment

Elizabeth Gomez, Gambian born in 1971, has being suffering from osteoarthritis of her right hip since the age of six and now seeking for medical treatment and the replacement of the hip.

She got the problem while walking to the room after bath and she felt down and sustained a hip fracture in the right leg. After been admitted at Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, she was told that she cannot be treated in the country.

On her x-ray and the medical notes appears that she has previous problem with this hip, as it is congenitally small compared to the other hip. This may cause her have a septic arthritis.

In 2009, precisely, she felt down again, causing more harm to the fracture hip, which she was rushed to Dakar where they recommended oversea treatment for her.

To make matter worse, her leg also slipped in the bathroom in 2017 and it seriously broke the same leg supporting the already fractured hip.

The x-ray also shows degeneration of the right hip which needs replacement and she also recently suffered from a fracture of her right distal femur.

By Elizabeth Cole One of the Gambia's talented filmmakers, who established Young Stars Movie Production have slated to premier another movie tittle 'Who To Blame' on March 6 at Pencha Mii hall. The production house that had started as a drama group in Brusubi, the Chief Executive Officer Modou Lamin Sowe said he was part of the founders and became the first president.
