Gambia can achieve lot together as nation-President Barrow

The President of The Gambia Adama Barrow disclosed that Gambia have proven that went we stand united in the cause of the nation we can achieve a lot.

“Let us expressed our political awareness and maturity by manifesting high degree of civic responsibility and by projecting the image through values and honored of the typical Gambian through our shared values guiding by the principle of good governance and democracy.”

The president was speaking yesterday at the celebration of the 54th independence held at the McCarthy square in Banjul.

He said the underline objective for the country, is for all citizens to engage in nation building as a united force, saying this is the environment that his government is now created for Gambians.  He added that as patriotic and good citizens, he urged all to build and allow the nation to develop.

“Independence carried multiples meanings and significant to us as a nation. It is not simply about self-rule and freedom from foreign domination but most importantly it’s about freedom of toughs and actions leading to our growth and progress as individuals, families, communities, organisations and as a nation,” President Barrow added.

He lamented that we have now come to realized and appreciate that true independence means freedom to set up and work through a strong and functional institution run by competent, sincere and efficient personals.

'Who to blame' movie premier slated

By Elizabeth Cole One of the Gambia's talented filmmakers, who established Young Stars Movie Production have slated to premier another movie tittle 'Who To Blame' on March 6 at Pencha Mii hall. The production house that had started as a drama group in Brusubi, the Chief Executive Officer Modou Lamin Sowe said he was part of the founders and became the first president. He explained that they were inspired to form a movie production after shooting a movie tittle The Shadows of Our Culture' in Manduar, which brings lot of comments at home.   "That's the reason we decided to expand it instead being only for school drama thing."
