6 resign from GDC




Five members and one executive member of The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) have on Saturday resigned from the party for personnel matters.
The members include Ali Nget, who contested as parliamentarian for Old Yundum Constituency; Rina Mendy, first female artist to join GDC, Samba Nget known as Pa Nget, GDC Old Yundum Constituency Chairman, Abdoulie Cham, Head of Research, Strategy and Policy, GDC and Momodou Sowe, Kunkujang Village Chairman.
According to the media officer at GDC Modou Musa Njie, confirmed the news but adding that they didn’t know the reason behind their leaving. He said only one is an executive member to the party.
Mambayik Njie, the GDC spokesperson has also confirmed the news, saying that they have the right to leave or stay.
“This will not move GDC because these are people who can turn to any party at any time they wish. I have been in politics and I know this will not impacted to our party,” he said.
