Envoy Gambia praise bilateral relations with Qatar
The
Gambian ambassador to Qatar Foday Mulang has praised the bilateral relations
between the governments of Gambia and Qatar, describing the financial and
material support of Qatar to the country as exceptional.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar
National Day, the ambassador said that such celebration renewed sovereignty,
national pride, dignity and a common purpose for the peoples.
He said that celebrating the National Day on December 18 each year
affirms the keenness of Qatar and its people to commemorate the founder Sheikh
Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, who, during his reign, managed to unite the
tribes and establish the state
“We want to assure the government and the peoples of Qatar of our
commitment to further strengthen and increase the scope of the bilateral ties
that happily exist for the benefit of both brotherly nations in years to come,”
he said.
The ambassador appreciated Qatar’s achievements and national will of the peoples of Qatar, which is based on the evidence that Qatar has undergone significant transformation in terms of its domestic and foreign policy.
“Since the launch of Qatar National Vision 2030 by His Highness the
Amir, ushering in a more modernised way of thinking, opening new horizons and
defined the features of the society that the government and peoples of Qatar
aspire to establish, a roadmap that is being gradually followed with
unmistakable clarity and unity of purpose,” he stated.
The ambassador said that the foreign policy objective of Qatar based on the principles of consolidating international peace and security, by promoting peaceful settlement of international disputes that has over the years been reinforced by taking practical steps in mediation and the provision of platforms to resolve tensions intra and inter states through diplomatic and peaceful means in a truly exemplary manner.
