Commuters express dissatisfaction on transportation

By Pa Modou Cham As many within the Greater Banjul Area (GBA) do travel each day to work, some of the commuters yesterday raised concerns on transportation issues, saying they are not satisfy with drivers’ behaviour toward them. Speaking to the commuters, Baba Jobe expressed disappointment for seeing some of the drivers behaving anyhow they feel like during busy hours of 4pm to 8pm on the roads. ¨Sometimes, it took us triple fares before reaching to our place. Some of the drivers do tell us when coming from Westfield going to Brikama that they can only stop at Tallinding or Latrikunda. After Latrikunda they will decide to take Toboko and then to Brikama which i believe is undone when we believe that we are responsible citizens.¨ He added that the government should intervene and tell the drivers to stop such bad practices. The President of The Gambia Adama Barrow send a strong message to the Gambians that declaration of our freedom should equip us to ratify nationhood and patriotism as genuine Gambian nationalists. “Today marks 54 th anniversary of the day that ushers our motherland into the world as a sovereign nation, while is a day of celebration and jubilation. This opportunities task us as a nation to take our successes, challenges and progress since the attainment of nationhood. 30 GAF officers trained on engineering

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has yesterday graduated thirty officers who underwent five months intensive training on engineering to serve GAF. The graduation was held at Yundum Barack. Brigadier general Ramatoulie B.K Sanyang thanked all the commanders who partake in the training, saying there is need to consolidate on the achievements made so far and improve on the identified weak areas, especially in engineering. “This is the fifth time in the history of the GAF engineers thus making today’s ceremony most special. I recalled personnel ceremony cadre 04 around July 2018, which was about 50 soldiers and was a significant figure to both GAF engineers and different platinum,” he explained.
