YEP launches IT, digital entrepreneurship component
The Youth Empowerment Project (YEP), a European Union funded flagship project to The Gambia launched an Information Technology (IT) and digital entrepreneurship component aimed at developing the IT sector with a focus on tech start-up support programme that on board 25 Gambian tech start-ups. The launching was held yesterday at The Gambia Chambers for Commerce and Industry’s main office in Bijilo. Baboucarr Sallah, the project manager at YEP explained that Yep is a four years project that is looking in various sector and the IT is part of them, in order to create opportunities for the young medium and small scale enterprises in developing their businesses. “We initiated this programme to help them move from the level they are currently into more advance level and giving them the opportunity for networking both locally and internationally.
