NGBV founder resigns

The national coordinator for Network Against Gender Base Violence (NGBV) Haddy Mboge Barrow, who founded the network has resigned after 47 years of executing her duties to promote gender equality in the country. “I resigned because I have been working for so long and I am convinced that the members in the network can run the activities without me. I’m glad to give chance to the young once coming, who are ready to complete the work from where I stopped.” These were revealed recently at an annual meeting of the network held at the NaNA conference hall alongside Bertin Harding highway. Development This is the process of starting a project varies, but one must think the importance of developing a script, it could be a well written mindset prepared, a book or a brief story outline. Development may also start from identifying your Director or Writer pitching an idea to a Producer. 2. Pre-Production This is the phase or stage where you would prepare for the production and as well narrow down the existing options of the production. This is the stage where the planning takes place before the cinematography ordered the camera rolling and set to appear in motion pictures. 2nd edition of Bakau festival underway

Bakau Youth Development Association (BYDA) have started their festival which marks the 2 nd edition and is gears to celebrate cultures, dialogue, socialization and discussing issues of development in the community. These were revealed recently at a conference held at a local hotel in Bakau. Ebrima Darboe, the public relations officer of BYMA explained that the organisation is a group that is formed by young people within the community of Bakau. Added that as young people, they believe it’s important to organise themselves, come together and actively participate towards community development. “We made a commitment to empower ourselves and others to different initiatives. Since the establishment of the association, we had series of programs and activities that are meant to add value to the livelihood of the people within the community of Bakau. Senegambia CSOs advocates for one ID card

These were revealed over the weekend at the forum organized by Beakanyang and Team Gomsa Bopa in collaboration with the Senegalese counterpart Yen A Marre. The forum formed parts of 12 months project called MBOKA and supported by NED foundation to bring the people of the two countries closer. It also seeks among other things to promote and strengthen cultural ties and sharing of experiences between the CSOs and peoples of The Gambia and Senegal. Woman suffers osteoarthritis seek for medical treatment

Elizabeth Gomez, Gambian born in 1971, has being suffering from osteoarthritis of her right hip since the age of six and now seeking for medical treatment and the replacement of the hip. She got the problem while walking to the room after bath and she felt down and sustained a hip fracture in the right leg. After been admitted at Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, she was told that she cannot be treated in the country. On her x-ray and the medical notes appears that she has previous problem with this hip, as it is congenitally small compared to the other hip. This may cause her have a septic arthritis. In 2009, precisely, she felt down again, causing more harm to the fracture hip, which she was rushed to Dakar where they recommended oversea treatment for her. To make matter worse, her leg also slipped in the bathroom in 2017 and it seriously broke the same leg supporting the already fractured hip.
