Many young people in the Upper River Region, over the weekend wore T. shirts in Mangkuma Kunda and Basse, advocating ‘President Barrow for new direction’. The Gambian ambassador to Qatar Foday Mulang has praised the bilateral relations between the governments of Gambia and Qatar, describing the financial and material support of Qatar to the country as exceptional. The president of The Gambia Adama Barrow has extolled the honesty of the leader of Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) Mai Ahmed Fatty, while Mai returns by describing the president as hardworking leader. The president Adama Barrow has laid the foundation stones of his government firs development project for the construction of roads and building of bridges in the Upper River Region (URR). The ceremony was held over the weekend at Basse and was graced by the vice president, ministers, the Chinese ambassador and other authorities. The president explained that the roads and bridges will help link the communities, reduce accidents, create easy markets and create easy access for the transportation of goods from the ECOWAS region. He calls on the people of the region to make the best use of the roads and bridges, while appealing for them to take it as their own.
